RUMBLE PONIES RESUME HOMESTAND AFTER LEAGUE-WIDE OFF DAY: Binghamton continues its stretch of seven games in eight days at NYSEG Stadium, welcoming the Portland Sea Dogs for the first of a four-game series. The Rumble Ponies dropped back-to-back contests against the SeaWolves Friday and Saturday, after taking the series- opener on Thursday. Portland snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday in a 4-2 win at Trenton.

BINGHAMTON  STARTER:  Mickey Jannis readies to face Portland for the second time in seven days. On 4/11, Jannis took the bump for the middle game of a three-game series at Hadlock Field. The righty allowed just one earned run over five innings in a no-decision. Jannis is in the midst of his third season with Binghamton, having pitched in 26 games since the beginning of the 2015 season.

PORTLAND STARTER: The Sea Dogs turn to Kevin McAvoy, who opposed Jannis and the Rumble Ponies on 4/11. In the Portland win, McAvoy allowed one earned run through six innings and did not earn a decision. The 23-year old right-hander begins his second season with Portland after posting an 8-9 mark with a 5.80 ERA in 22 starts last season. A 4th round draft pick in 2014, McAvoy became the highest drafted player in Bryant University’s program history. The Syracuse native makes his third career start at NYSEG Stadium

STRONG LIKE BULL(PEN): In Saturday’s series finale against Erie, the Binghamton bullpen did not allow a run in the final six innings. Ben Griset, Scarlyn Reyes, Tim Peterson, and Corey Taylor combined to give up just two hits in the losing effort. In the series, the Rumble Pony relievers tossed 12 innings of one-run baseball, collecting 12 strikeouts. The bullpen ERA dipped to 2.45 for the season.

GO GO GUILLORME: INF Luis Guillorme is 10-for-16 during his four-game hitting streak. The 22-year old has hit in eight of the nine games, while his .424 batting average ranks 5th in the Eastern League. His 14 hits ranks 2nd behind Cedric Mullins of Bowie (20).

YOU AGAIN? Binghamton and Portland square off four times at NYSEG Stadium this week after competing in a three-game series in Portland just last week. From 4/10 - 4/12 the Rumble Ponies and Sea Dogs dueled at Hadlock Field, with Binghamton taking two of three games. Game two was a 3-2 Portland win in 10 innings, while the series finale was a 4-3 Binghamton victory in 11 innings.

WHERE WERE WE? At this point last season, Binghamton had a 5-4 mark through nine games. Mickey Jannis took the bump in the tenth game of the season against the Akron RubberDucks and took the loss in a 7-2 game. The B-Mets finished the month of April with an 11-9 record.
