ABOUT LAST GAMEJordan Humphreys carried the Fireflies to victory on Friday with seven innings and nine strikeouts. Columbia defeated Augusta 7-2 at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The righty allowed just one run and picked up his second win. Luis Carpio recorded his fifth multi-hit game this season.

EARN IT: Jordan Humphreys and Max Kuhns did not walk an Augusta batter on Thursday night. It’s the first time Columbia pitching hasn’t surrendered a walk in a game since August 23, 2016.

#NOWALKS: Columbia pitchers have issued more than four walks in a game just twice in eight games. The Fireflies are allowing just over three walks per game.

NO APPETIZERS: Columbia has held the opposition to a total of three runs and 11 hits in the first three innings of all games this year.

STREAKING: Three Fireflies sport on-base streaks that rank among the league’s best: Luis Carpio - 8 … Dash Winningham - 8 … Tim Tebow - 7

RUN SUPPORT: The Fireflies have tallied five or more runs in five of the eight games to begin the season. Last year, Columbia only had one game with five or more runs during this span.

RUMBLING: 2016 Firefly P.J. Conlon picked up the win in his second start of the season last night for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Double-A). The southpaw posted six innings, had 5 strikeouts, and walked no one. Conlon logged at least six innings in 10 of his starts with Columbia in 2016.Today is the one-year anniversary of Spirit Communications Park’s opening - a game in which Conlon started.
