Mack – Draft Notes – Week 2-26


2-26 –

No one is creating a stronger case for becoming the first pitcher drafted this year than Vanderbilt's RHP Kyle Wright. He tossed 6-IP, 7-K againt UIC this weekend, topping his fastball off at 97 and adding in an 80-82 slider.

Huntington Beach HS (CA) RHP  Hagen Danner - 2-2, 2-RBI, 2-BB on Saturday

Buckholz HS (FLA) RHSP Garrett Hunter Ruth sitting 91-94 touched 95 with fastball and sharp slider at 86-87

Notre Dame RHSP Peter Solomon had rough outing. 5-IP, 4-ER… 90-92 fastball, 84-87 slider, wipeout 81 curve.

Texas RF Patrick Mathis – 1-4, 2-RBI

Illinois-Chicago pulled off the series upset of the weekend, winning two of three verses #7 Vanderbilt. Another hitless (0-5) game for top prospect, CF Jeren Campbell.

Cal State Fullerton closer, Colton Hock, pitched 1.2 innings, one strikeout, for his second save… for the season: 5.2-IP, 0.00.

#1 TCU 13, Rice 5 - big night for TCU catcher Evan Skoug: 1-4, 2-R, 3-RBI, second home run of the season.
